Tikis and Pecans

One of my ongoing creative projects for 2013 is to shoot a roll of film a week.  These few photos were taken in Alvin, Texas two weeks ago.  It was a cloudy day, so the photos are not great.  Also, I was shooting b&w, but wished that I had loaded color because everything I wanted to photograph would have looked much better, like these giant Tiki heads which I believe were blue.

These next shots of a fruit and nut stand should have definitely been in color.

The last photo is of two strange dummies with flags for hands trying to get the attention of drivers.  I'll admit that I mainly wanted to take photos, but I did want to try the papershell pecans.  My grandfather's ranch house had pecan trees and I loved eating them as a kid.  We only had a few bucks on us, so after picking some fruits and veggies, we ran out of money.  I'll have to go back when it is sunny and re-take photos with color film
On another note, I have not mailed the collages from the 100 collage project, but will

Great photos! Those Tiki heads are amazing! We must come to Texas one day to see things like this - nothing like it in the UK.

I look forward to that day!

It's hard to take photos when the sky is cloudy and ever so bright. The first and last photo are my favourite. In Australia we pronounce pecans "pee-cans".
